1) Do we have a retail store?
We do not have a retail location. We sell retail and wholesale via this website, our catalog through mail order, fax, phone and at many stamp shows all over the U.S. Sorry, but we just don't have time for a store! :) We also have many wonderful stamp retailers who carry some of our designs. Check our listing of fine retailers to see if there is one near you. If not, be sure to recommend us to your favorite stamp store.

2) Are we an angel company?
Yes, we are an angel company. Please feel free to use our stamps to create hand stamped items for pleasure or profit. We'd love to see what you create. Please send us a sample we can post to our website. Each item must be individually hand stamped. No mass production by any means, mechanical or electronic, is permitted. All designs © Repeat Impressions. All Rights Reserved.

3) Do we sell unmounteds?
Yes. And our plain unmounted stamps (rubber only, no cling cushion) are approximately half the price of the wood mounted version. Please be sure to specify unmounted on your order form. There is a flat fee of $6.99 for shipping an order of only plain unmounted stamps via Priority Mail regardless of how many you order. We are also happy to accommodate requests for First Class Mail for smaller unmounted only orders. We also offer our red rubber stamps on cling cushion. If you do not see that option listed for the item you wish to purchase, please note your request in the Comments section of the order form and we will be happy to oblige. We will also notify you via email with your cling mount pricing prior to processing.

4) Do we sell wholesale?
Yes, our wood mount stamps and all our paper products are available to wholesale accounts. We welcome new wholesale buyers and would love to add you to our website. To request our wholesale catalog please send your $8 payment ($5 refundable), a copy of your resale certificate and at least one of the following: copy of yellow pages ad; ad from magazine; photo of storefront; company letterhead and business card.

5) What is the difference between an art stamp mount and a traditional wood handle mount?
An art stamp mount is an hourglass shaped hardwood mount that is smooth and flat on top. The curved shape on the sides of the wood give your fingers a comfortable grip on the wood. Art stamp mounts are made to be held with two hands. These mounts give you more control and allow for a more even pressure and more exact placement when stamping an image.

A traditional wood handle mount is also made from wood but has a knob handle on the top. These mounts work best for quick stamping applications or large runs of stamped pieces. This type of mount lends itself well to address stamps, signature stamps, deposit stamps, stamping logos on bags, etc.

6) What is the difference between a polymer stamp and a red rubber stamp?
POLYMER STAMPS:
We use polymer to create custom wood mount and self-inking stamps. Polymer stamps are a fast and economical way to create one of a kind stamps or stamps in small multiples. You can use a variety of inks with your polymer stamp just as you can with a red rubber stamp. You should blot off any excess ink on a scrap of paper and wipe with a baby wipe when necessary to clean your polymer stamp. Never use any heavy solvents to clean your polymer stamp.

A polymer stamp is created using a film negative and a liquid polymer which is then developed in a special machine through a process using light. The excess polymer is washed away leaving the exposed polymer which is the stamp. The stamp then goes through a special wash out process and is cured to harden the stamp.

These stamps can be produced in a fairly short amount of time and without a costly investment because no metal engravings or matrix boards are used in the polymer process. We normally produce and ship your custom polymer stamp within 24-48 hours.

RED RUBBER STAMPS:
All of our art stamps are made from red rubber. Red rubber should be used for large runs of a particular stamp design. Red rubber stamps require an initial investment to produce a deep etched magnesium plate and a matrix board which can be quite costly. Once these have been created the actual cost to create the rubber dies is reasonable.

This method begins with a specially made deep etched magnesium plate created from the original artwork. This metal plate is then used to produce the matrix board. The matrix board works like a mold. Sheets of raw rubber are placed on the matrix board and the rubber dies are pressed in a vulcanizer using a lot of heat and pressure. After the rubber has been cured it is pulled from the mold to cool and then the individual images are cut apart to create the rubber dies.

Red rubber stamps require an initial investment of time and money. Two to three weeks must be allowed to produce the plate, matrix and first sheet of rubber. Subsequent re-orders of the same images can then be produced in two to three days.

7) How do I price a polymer custom art stamp?
Custom art stamps are priced by the square inch. Measure the width of your image and multiply that number by the height of your image to give you the square number of inches. (Example: 1" high x 2.5" wide = 2.5 sq. inches) Refer to our Custom Designs page for pricing.

8) Can I send an electronic file of my artwork?
Electronic files are accepted in these formats only:
Pdf files work well as long as you remember to embed your fonts and use the .pdf file extension.
If scanning your artwork... prepare file as 600dpi, 100% size, Black & White (bitmap or text), save in tif format for Mac and name your file using the .tif extension.
If you have created your artwork in Illustrator, Freehand or CorelDraw please save them as .eps files. (Do NOT convert to .eps if it wasn't created using these drawing programs!). If you are using Illustrator please save your file in Illustrator 10 version or earlier.
And lastly, if all else fails a clean black and white copy sent through the mail is always happily accepted.
PLEASE NOTE: Photographs, color graphics and Word docs are NOT accepted.

9) What is the turn around time on a custom stamp order?
Custom polymer stamps are normally processed within a few days. (Sometimes longer if we are away at a show.) Custom stamps made from red rubber can take up to 3 weeks to allow for the production of the magnesium plate and matrix board.
